MALAWI COMMEMORATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

“The Federation of Disability Organizations in Malawi (FEDOMA) wishes to join the rest of the world in commemorating International Women’s Day, observed on 8th March. FEDOMA recognizes the vital role that women play in promoting socio-economic development within society. Reflecting this year’s theme, “Invest in women: accelerate progress,” we believe our women are pivotal to achieving Malawi’s highly anticipated Vision 2063. As the umbrella organization for all Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) in Malawi, FEDOMA congratulates all women with disabilities who are making progressive efforts to enhance the national development agenda. We join the entire disability fraternity in supporting women with disabilities who are working tirelessly to realize the Malawi 2063 vision. It is our appeal to the general public to come together and exert our efforts in implementing deliberate measures that will foster an enabling environment, thus facilitating significant strides in economic empowerment for women with disabilities. Let us build an inclusive Malawi where women with disabilities can stand independently.”
