Malawi Disability Sports Association (MADISA)
MADISA was established in 1998 to promote sporting activities for people with disabilities. It was felt people with disabilities were being excluded from sports and there was no national representation for people with disabilities.
MADISA aims to improve, encourage and facilitate sporting activities for people with disabilities in Malawi. MADISA is registered with the National Sports Council and the Olympic and Commonwealth Association of Malawi.
Last year they received funding to train athletes to participate in the Commonwealth Games in Australia and this is a milestone for MADISA who under the leadership of new elected committee have worked hard to be accorded a place in the National squad to the Commonwealth Games They also participated in locally funded competitions such as the NICO fun run.
MADISA have just received funding from FEDOMA to establish a branch in Mulanje. Altogether they have 562 registered members from Blantyre, Chiradzulu, Mulanje and Lilongwe.
